Following the success of the Summer dates during the Long Summer at the Piccolo, Alla scoperta del Teatro, an entertaining guided tour lead by Francesca Puglisi returns.
The event takes place in the areas of the original home of the Piccolo, the Teatro Grassi in via Rovello, where the adventure of the first Italian Repertory Theatre began in 1947 thanks to the foresight of Giorgio Strehler and Paolo Grassi.
Francesca Puglisi, actress and graduate of the Piccolo Teatro di Milano Theatrical School, will lead her 'audience' on an entertaining journey to discover the Teatro Grassi: it begins in the renaissance cloister, which the conservative restoration brought to light in 2009, and which uncovered frescoes from the Da Vinci school. It continues to the foyer, and to the auditorium.
The audience will also have the opportunity to visit a number of areas which are not usually open to the public, such as the 'Corridor of the Harpy', the passage leading to the offices and working areas of the theatre.
It is a fascinating journey inside the building which was once home to Cecilia Gallerani, subject of Da Vinci's 'Lady with an ermine'. A voyage through the theatre which is the 'home of Harlequin', which saw the creation of some of Giorgio Strehler's most celebrated productions, and – during the last season – the play Lehman Trilogy by Stefano Massini, directed by Luca Ronconi.
