From one of the most famous and extraordinary episodes in the life of Goldoni – the adolescent flight on a boat which transported a group of comedians on tour – The Piccolo and Teatro Gioco Vita present a play for a young audience which tells of how the father of modern Italian theatre discovered his own theatrical vocation.

Teatro Studio Melato
An extraordinary theatrical fantasy for actors and shadows upon which Stefano de Luca has built, working on material from Mémoires by Carlo Goldoni and the theatrical scripts by Giorgio Strehler, which were dedicated to the autobiography of the Venetian writer in the 1960s without ever being staged.
The words of Strehler explain the idea which forms the foundations of the play: “A story of Goldoni’s adolescence, when one April morning he embarked on a fantastic journey at sea together with a company of comedians. There, for the first time, he learned of everything: love, women, wonder, curiosity for the world of the comedians, and through them, curiosity for the world of mankind”.
Duration: One hour and 30 minutes
