The sodality with the Compagnia Marionettistica Carlo Colla & Figli every year enriches the Piccolo's programme with prose, opera and dance through the interpretations of the "wooden actors". This year's summer appointment is Shakespeare's Macbeth. 150 characters for a show which brings together the splendour and the sumptuousness of the most important of marionette shows.

Teatro Grassi
Shakespearean drama has always found a place in the repertoire of traditional Italian marionette theatre since the first half of the 19th century, when the prime function of the companies was the divulgence of the great classics of theatre, literature and opera with well-known and understood works such as Othello, Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. It is to this last play that the Carlo Colla & Figli Company has dedicated its particular attention, renovating it for a staging of great emotive impact: 150 characters, with moving hands and mouths to obtain a stylised gestural expressiveness of great pathos, a script translated by Eugenio Monti Colla and the recorded voices of a group of Italian actors render this Macbeth an unmissable play, in the purest tradition of the most famous marionette company in Italy.
Duration: 1 hour and 45 minutes
