The 9th edition of “Milano incontra le Grecia” proposes “Borrowed Shoes”, a show by the singer Christina Maxouri which, as the title suggests, borrows Greek musical traditions, blending them with modern melodies and alternating them with pieces which are performed and sung “a cappella”, creating a unique, intimate and very personal performance.

For the ninth edition of Milano incontra la Grecia, Borrowed Shoes is a performance created by following the theme of emotions, and which aims to cancel the distance and that certain “seriousness” which can form between an audience and a performer.
Christina Maxouri “borrows” old and new Greek melodies to perform them a cappella in a “chamber” concert where diverse elements are brought together: the presentation of songs taken from texts by Hatzidakis, Elytis, Leivaditis, Peresiadis, Palamas and others, and the music that she herself plays with a Glockenspeil, a clarinet and a small baglamàs.
Borrowed Shoes made its debut in December of 2013 and, until January 2015 was in tour in Greece and worldwide.
