The third appointment in the series "Saper ascoltare". Giovanni Gavazzeni, musical critic and musicologist, will discuss the role of the quartet from Romanticism to the Twentieth Century.

Il quartetto tra Romanticismo e Novecento is the title of the event lead by Giovanni Gavezzeni in preparation for the attending of the concerts by the Haas Quartet and the Apollon Musagète Quartet, as part of the Società del Quartetto's season.
The event will examine the "dialogue between ancient and modern" with a number of greats who have dedicated themselves to this kind of composition from diverse points of view: Beethoven and Schubert, Prokofiev and Shostakovich, Smetana and Webern.
Giovanni Gavazzeni, musical critic for the Giornale and musicologist, grandson of the celebrated conductor, President of the Quartetto in the 1990s and refined intellectual Gianandrea Gavazzeni, from whom he also inherited the art of entertaining audiences and of communication. He regularly collaborates with the magazine Amadeus.
