Shakespeare and Goldoni: two geniuses of the theatre face to face. Gabriella Cambiaghi will discuss the subject with Stefano de Luca in the second event in the series “Shakespeare Everywhere” organised by Carolyne Patey and Mariacristina Cavecchi in collaboration with the Università degli Studi di Milano.

On the occasion of the four-hundredth anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, the Piccolo and the Department of Language and Literature at the Università Degli Studi di Milano have organised a series of events entitled Shakespeare Everywhere, by Caroline Patey and Mariacristina Cavecchi, to examine the relationships which exist between the “Immortal Bard” and contemporary dramaturgy.
The second appointment is with Stefano de Luca, whose Barca dei comici is at the Teatro Studio Melato, to discuss Shakespeare and Goldoni, two fundamental figures of theatre. The event will be conducted by Gabriella Cambiaghi.
The series includes another two events at the Piccolo Teatro: with Laura Pasetti (Shakespeare for Teens, 20 April) and with Marco Castellari and Alberto Bentoglio (Shakespeare e Brecht, 27 April). There will also be an event with Eugenio Monti Colla, held at the headquarters of the Compagnia Marionettistica Carlo Colla & Figli, who, over the course of his long career, has staged original Shakespearean re-writings and stage projects (as part of this season Macbeth at the Teatro Grassi from 10 to 19 June).
