Two characters on stage and one who is continuously evoked but who never appears. The protagonist is this last character: the son, the young man, the new generation, with problems, choices to make, the discovery of his own distant abysses. Over the course of eight beers, it emerges that what one believes to know about others, anyone, even ones own son, is the true mystery.

Birre e rivelazioni is a play with two characters on stage, and another who is continuously evoked but who never appears. This is the protagonist. A seemingly casual visit which in reality isn’t casual, conversations which allude to something, which skirt around, concealing the true question, and then transform intentions, modifying the internal landscape and indicating something else, something which the characters themselves have no control of and which leads to an ending of reciprocal incomprehension. Over the course of eight beers, it emerges that what one believes to know about others, anyone, even ones own son, is the true mystery. “The division of the text in eight beers - explains Tony Laudadio - immediately poses a vital question: is this serious thought or only alcohol-induced delirium? As is usual with the things I love to write, the show lies on the confine between the two”. The director continues: “Homosexuality is a central theme here but, at the same time, it gradually becomes marginal. Sex, in whatever form, becomes a single entity, unambiguous, universal, precisely because in any act of love, the substance takes on characteristics which go beyond physical aspects”.
