Rocio Molina is one of the greatest and most anticipated interpreters of contemporary flamenco. The winner of the National Dance Award at just 26 years of age, a muse for Baryshnikov, she returns to Milan with her latest production. An iconoclastic choreographer, she has created her own language based on the reinvented tradition of a flamenco which respects its essence and embraces the avant garde. Her work dives deep into the roots of flamenco, at the same time confronting its free and untameable nature, it is a journey, the transition of the female figure from a body in balance to a body which celebrates its extreme femininity. It is a flamenco which draws strength from a continuous dialogue with the earth. Here the movement is totally contrasting, exaggerated, voluptuous and confused, to the point in which it becomes grotesque and politically incorrect.
