Antonio Latella, taking the first syllable of the word mamma, guides us on a jourrney through the work of Pasolini, following a common thread which is centred on that generative force of words and men, of thought and artistic gesture. An attempt, through words and images, to trace a possible unique mother, with that MA which is necessary to create a doubt: "mother yes, ma...”.

MA for Mother; MA for generative force, creator of words, of men, of thought, of artistic gesture; MA for doubt (in Italian, MA means “but”). Taking the first syllable of the word mamma as a starting point, a journey through the work of Pier Paolo Pasolini. Because “in all of his victories and defeats - writes Antonio Latella - alongside the man Pier Paolo Pasolini, there is always his mother. In his cinema, the mother becomes one of the fulcrums around which everything orbits. Gazes and broken smiles of mothers chosen as the absolute icons of an Italy which knows that nothing will be recoverable. Those powerful stares, molested by ancestral suffering. All his literature and his theatre is pervaded by the presence of the mother who accompanied him in his flight from the forced banality of daily life. Mother is also writing, where the unlimited source is thought and the weapon in the battle of life is the word.
