Far finta di essere G, a tribute to Giorgio Gaber by David Calabrese and Lorenzo Scuda from the musical-theatrical group Oblivion, presents a re-reading of texts and music by Gaber and Luporini in a refined and intelligently comical key: The best possible example of how a perfect stage mechanism can show how ephemeral the confines are between light entertainment and “serious” theatre. A theatrical game in which entire pieces are dismantled, decomposed and recomposed with a healthy dose of clownish folly by the Scuda-Calabrese duo. A “parody” of the Gaber repertoire, which also includes those first light-hearted songs which seem to have little to do with commitment and theatre-song, but without which an understanding of the artistic career of Gaber would be incomplete.
