A great jazz festival, the MitJazzFestival, opens the 19th edition of “Jazz al Piccolo - Orchestra Senza Confini”: protagonists of this third appointment are the guest soloists Franco Ambrosetti, Franco D’andrea, Claudio Fasoli, Tiziana Ghiglioni, Pietro Tonolo, Gianluigi Trovesi. Conductors Luca Missiti, Enrico Intra
Teatro Strehler
MITJazzFestival opens the nineteenth edition of Jazz al Piccolo - Orchestra Senza Confini with, as protagonists, twenty of the most important Italian jazz musicians of all time, the guests of the first two editions of Italian Jazz Graffiti (in 2000 and 2001), in which each of them played, with the Civica Jazz Band, a piece with an original arrangement created around the characteristics of the orchestra and the soloist. A formula which will be proposed again over the three days, almost always with the execution of the piece contained in the double CD Italian Jazz Graffiti, a testimony of the two legendary evenings. Jazz al Piccolo
The traditional appointment on the morning of the day of Saint Ambrogio, the patron saint of Milan, with the jazz of the Civica Jazz Band, closes the first edition of the MITJazzFestival, an integral part of Orchestra Senza Confini, which celebrates twenty years of Enrico Intra’s Big Band, which will be conducted by the maestro and by the young conductor Luca Missiti. In the conclusive appointment of the extraordinary three days, musicians of the highest level of artistic creativity will play their own compositions and arrangements, such as Claudio Fasoli, Franco D’Andrea, Gianluigi Trovesi and Pietro Tonolo, together with the world-famous improviser Franco Ambrosetti and the first lady of Italian jazz singing, Tiziana Ghiglioni.
On the occasion of MitJazzFestival, the foyer of the Teatro Strehler will be hosting an exhibition dedicated to the caricatures by Adreas Strizzi "Evolvendo in Jazz"
