In “It is the wind that makes the flag”, he overturns the idea of a “happy” Germany, speaking of how the crisis, both economic and non, can completely overturn the destiny of an apparently perfect family.

The play by Philipp Löhle, considered one of the most interesting German playwrights, examines the theme of happiness in a society which apparently offers a whole range of opportunities for choice, beginning with the family, a fundamental economic nucleus, a primitive form of organisation among human beings. The plot is a continuous play of accidents, circumstances, inversions, and exchanges with the audience which, between laughs, moves towards a finale in which the characters, initially puppets of an economic system, in the end become overwhelmed.
In a family like many, the ritual of breakfast takes place, the façade of perfection on the eve of richness in an almost Monicelli-like atmosphere: a father with a successful career, a housewife and two children with their dreams and ambitions. A bright future is on the horizon, but then...
