Enrico Bertolino dedicates a chapter of his “Instant Theatre”, a theatrical formula in which he unites narration, current affairs, humour, history, tradition, news, comedy, politics and satire, to Giorgio Gaber, beginning with a piece from the nineties, La sedia da spostare.
Teatro Grassi
Promoted by the Fondazione Giorgio Gaber in collaboration with the Piccolo Teatro, the return of Milano per Gaber. The review was created with the aim of keeping alive awareness and passion, particularly for younger generations, for the writer who, at the Piccolo, created the concept of Theatre-Song: a veritable form of expression which combines intellectual liberty and civil responsibility.
The review ends with Instant Theatre by and with Enrico Bertolino, co-author with Massimo Navone, Luca Bottura ed Enrico Nocera.
The other appointments: Monday 26 March Destra, sinistra o… Giorgio Gaber (a discussion with the Honourable Graziano Delrio); Tuesday 27 March Gaber-Fossati “Le donne di ora” (a discussion with Ivano Fossati, led by Massimo Bernadini); Wednesday 28 March Polli di allevamento (a show by Giorgio Gaber and Sandro Luporini with Giulio Casale).
From the show E pensare che c’era il pensiero, La sedia da spostare is a “monologue for many voices” in which Giorgio Gaber examines, with irony, the capacity of politics to “complicate” even the simplest of things, such as moving a chair. Taking this text as the starting point, Enrico Bertolino stages a new chapter of his Instant Theatre, a theatrical formula in which narration, current affairs, humour, history, tradition, news, comedy, politics and satire come together on the stage. The theatre thus becomes a place for satirical information closely tied to current affairs, and the show a process of awareness of a political or social theme, a “tutorial” with a smile, particularly suitable for those who, like Bertolino himself, are full of equal quantities of certainty and doubt. Ninety minutes of showmanship for clarifying one’s own ideas and developing new ones.
