Inspired by the true story of a group of brothers who, twenty years ago, out of boredom, throw a block from an overpass, hitting a car and killing a woman, the play tells of the monotonous life in the suburbs, deserted, uninhabited and forgotten places, which “breed evil and the lack of feeling”.
Teatro Grassi
With the new artistic direction of Benedetto Sicca, Tramedautore is presented as the International Festival of Dramaturgies. The plural here is important: playwriting, evermore-so nowadays, has proven to be able to penetrate lands and languages both verbal and non-verbal, capable of elaborating thoughts on contemporaneity. Works will be staged from Belgium, Great Britain, Italy, The Netherlands and Sweden, focusing on the fragility of values in that part of Europe theoretically leading this continent which runs “at two speeds”. There will also be street performances and concerts in the Chiostro following the shows.
Five men, a family: the family F, made up of four brothers and an acquired uncle, Tex. They are young men, just like many others, with a job and a city at their heels, the city of T. Driven by boredom and the desire for revenge on life, the brothers F. and their uncle Tex move between excess and awareness by committing an act which seems to have been pre-destined by life.
The story told in this drama is inspired by the story of the Furlan brothers, who, in 1996, dropped a three-kilo block from the Cavallosa overpass in Tortona, killing Maria Letizia Berdini “to beat boredom, having nothing else to do on a winter’s evening around Christmas time”.
A form of theatre made up of flesh and street-life, which is not afraid to get its hands dirty with true reality - Paper Street
A dry and powerful dramaturgic journey interpreted in a superb manner by the actors. Without frills, but with only their marked physicality and direct, at times brutal, language, they lead the spectator in a journey towards hell - CivitanovaLive.it
At Chiostro Nina Vinchi
7 p.m. - "Una parola al giorno" performance
Duration: one hour and 10 minutes
