A grand classic of ballet, a marvellous fairy-tale which maintains the magic and the charm of Perrault’s account; Frédéric Olivieri’s Cenerentola to the music of Sergei Prokofiev, choreography commissioned by the Fondazione Bracco for the young pupils of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala Ballet School.

Teatro Strehler
For the traditional Christmas appointment with the Accademia Teatro alla Scala Ballet School, the return of one of the most loved ballets: Cenerentola, choreographed by Frédéric Olivieri, to the splendid music composed by Sergei Prokofiev.
As much a lover of fairy tales as Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev created a perfect score for the ballet version of one of the most well-known and loved of fairy tales. Classic and popular dance, court dances and exotic dances, pas de deux and variations. Olivieri’s choreography puts the talent of the young performers to the test with pieces that require technique and interpretive ability: from the dance of the fairies called on by the Fairy Godmother to transform Cinderella’s dream into reality, to the court dance, the dance of the three oranges, a gift from the Prince that the stepsisters fight over, to the Spanish and Arabic dances, and the pas de deux between Cinderella and the Prince.
“A ballet with strong romantic and fairy-tale connotations - says Olivieri - which is well-suited to the young age of the performers, some of whom are not even adolescents”.
Duration: two hours with interval
