Massimiliano Finazzer Flory brings the life of Leonardo da Vinci to the theatre: an impossible interview conducted by two actors in the roles of journalists seeking to discover the multifaceted character of a genius who embodied painting, science, invention and discovery.
-
Teatro Studio Melato
The idea for the show came in January 2012 in London, where it was performed in the form of a scenic reading on the occasion of the exhibition Leonardo da Vinci. Painter at the court of Milan at the National Gallery.
The staging at the Piccolo Teatro will preview the screenplay created for the film Being Leonardo da Vinci, which will be released in the Spring of 2019.
Through the form of the impossible interview - conducted by Gianni Quillico and Jacopo Rampini - Finazzer Flory as Leonardo da Vinci, with extraordinary make-up, retraces the main events in the life of the genius da Vinci, his art and his poetry. From his infancy to his activity in the civil and military fields, right up to his painting and the relationship between this and sculpture, music, and even science. Written in a language which recognises the way of speaking of the Renaissance, the text is entirely constructed on the original writings of Leonardo da Vinci, in particular from A Treatise on Painting
