A small epic for 200 marionettes, which tells the tale of a young layabout, a magic lamp, an evil wizard and all the vicissitudes that Aladdin has to overcome in order to win the love of the princess and reach the inevitable happy ending.

La lampada di Aladino is not only a fable for children, it is a story full of meaning and symbolism, in which the vicissitudes of the young man become a process of initiation which leads him from the light-heartedness of adolescence to the awareness of adulthood. Eugenio Monti Colla wrote the stage play in 1993, presenting the play for the first time at the Festival di Spoleto the following year. The play follows the story from the Arabian nights and is set in China. Among the particularities of the version for marionettes is the character of the wizard, who is a Maghrib dervish, and two genies, one black, symbolising irrationality, and one white, for reason and sentiment: their union brings harmony.
A true spectacular, with 200 characters moved by twelve animators, two of which handle the movements of the genie, a singular two-metre-long creature with the head, torso and arms in papier-mâché, and the rest of its body in silk and organza.
Duration: two hours with interval
