Willie Peyote, interviewed by Lorenzo Luporini, will be telling the audience of “Milano per Gaber” about his relationship with Mr. G, who has always been seen as one of his greatest masters.
Teatro Studio Melato
In conversation with Lorenzo Luporini, Willie Peyote (original name Guglielmo Bruno) talks about his relationship with Mr G, who has always been seen as one of his greatest masters. The Turin-born artist sits halfway between rap and the most cultured of songwriting and, just like Gaber, is not afraid to take on political and social themes. The discussion will focus on the importance of content in songs, with references to Gaber and his work.
The 2019 edition of Milano per Gaber – which has always been a point of reference for the theatrical and cultural study of the artist - coincides with the eightieth anniversary of Mr. G and offers a rich calendar of events.
The Teatro Strehler plays host to the events with two of the most acclaimed protagonists from the Italian music scene: Paolo Conte (26 April, 7 p.m.) and Cesare Cremonini (27 April, 3 p.m.).
At the Teatro Strehler, the staging of Lo stallo (28 April at 8.30 p.m.) by Sandro Luporini with David and Chiara Riondino.
There are two events at the Teatro Studio Melato, linked to the world of music for younger audiences: with Coma_Cose (26 April at 8.30 p.m.) and Willie Peyote (27 April at 7.30 p.m.), presented by Lorenzo Luporini.
On Monday 6 may at 8.30 p.m., the Teatro Grassi will be playing host to an event with Elio, who from October will be featuring in Il Grigio.
There are two presentations of books related to Mr. G: Sunday 28 April at 4.30 p.m. the Teatro Studio Melato will play host to the presentation of Gaber-Brel. Dialogo by Michela Bonavia, with Sandro Luporini and Alessio Lega (free admission, reservations online); Monday 6 May will be the turn of the presentation of Giorgio Gaber, a book by Luciano Ceri, with the participation of Ricky Gianco (free admission, reservations online).
In the foyer of the Teatro Strehler during performance times, there will be the exhibition Dolly, dedicated to Dolores Redaelli, Gaber’s “sister”, for years an important figure at the Piccolo Teatro and later at the Gaber Foundation.
