A study conducted on the 1982 version of the work by Ruccello by the young director Mario Scandale transforms the story of the housewife Adriana and the deadly game which she has subjected herself to, in the nightmare created by the mind of a lonely man about to turn fifty.

The young director Mario Scandale chooses the 1982 version of Annibale Ruccelloi’s work for an original meta-theatrical approach to the story of Adriana and the monstrous night in which she will descend into madness, eventually killing her own children.
“The operation - explains Scandale - with the invention of a prologue and epilogue, in which the man, or rather the actor, transforms himself into Adriana, without disguise, and falls into a sleep which seems like death, has allowed for a study on Ruccello’s dramaturgical structure and his language, an invented Neapolitan with variations that are tonal and stylistic, as well as mimicked and realistic”.
“I adore Ruccello - says the protagonist, Arturo Cirillo - the works of his that I have staged demonstrate that, and I think it is right that they are studied and experimented by school and theatre. Working with a young director and young actors seems to me to be a vital and practical way to exchange knowledge and experience”.
Duration: one hour 35 minutes without interval
