The Vicenza-based company exvUoto examines how the millennials are facing up to the sudden changes which characterise the world today. A modern tale, a grotesque and ironic portrait of the new generations, seen through the eyes of two brothers in a desolate Rovigo, told through hyperbolic images, shades of pulp and cartoon-like outlines.
Teatro Grassi
Included as one of the initiatives for the European Year of Cultural Heritage, the 18th edition of Tramedautore – International Festival of Dramaturgy directed by Michele Panella, focuses on a new generation of artists from Italy, France, Spain and Germany, immersed in a period of great fragility and political, social-cultural and individual paradoxes.
In addition to the plays, the Chiostro Nina Vinchi will play host to discussions, performances and concerts.
In Sister(s) family ties, present and past suffering, uncertainty, solitude and hope explode like stars in the apparent darkness that surrounds the lives of the characters.
A brother and sister, Bruno and Alison life suspended and defenceless is an improbable “Rovigo Alabama”, on the outskirts of existence, running a petrol station they inherited. They live on the sidelines, high on petrol, dazed in their microcosmos, tied to memories heavy with suffering, and to a bitter past, caged within that minute and suffocating existence from which it is impossible to escape and to see the future.
A paradoxical tale to tell the thirty-something generations.
exvUoto teatro, founded in 2011 by Andrea Dellai (1985) and Tommaso Franchin (1984), is built around the project Funi E Desideri Rapidamente Ammazzano. Their works include the series The love box: Blue Room (2013), White Room (2014), Green Room (2015) Pink Room (winner of the 2015 Assemblaggi provvisori competition), and the project Mappature Emotive (2017).
