Christmas with the puppets of the Carlo Colla & Figli Company in a new staging of Dalla Terra alla Luna, a musical fable which focuses on Prince Caprice and his stubborn desire to walk on the surface of our satellite... and he manages!
-
Teatro Grassi
The Carlo Colla & Figli Company returns for the two traditional appointments for Christmas and the month of June.
We begin with Dalla Terra alla Luna by Carlo II Colla, freely inspired by the operetta Le voyage dans la lune by J Offenbach in a new edition originally staged by Eugenio Monti Colla and based on the original play from 1898.
Prince Caprice wants to make his dream of going to the moon come true. In order to satisfy him, legions of artillerymen and experts in ballistics study a machine which is capable of flying through space, and in the end come up with a kind of projectile-craft. The prince can finally leave, accompanied by his guards and an incredible amount of luggage... including salami! Once on the moon, the earth-dwellers come across the inhabitants of the moon, including flying men, gnomes and pages led by King Cosmos. Prince Caprice falls hopelessly in love with the Princess, and as tradition dictates, the tale will have a happy ending with a wedding party which is a triumph of sumptuousness and magic... as only the puppets can provide.
Duration: 80 minutes with interval
