Franco Branciaroli and Massimo De Francovich, directed by Antonio Calenda, create a brand-new theatrical pairing which, through drama and comedy, evoke the adventures of Falstaff and his comical misadventures.

Teatro Strehler
An original creation inspired by Shakespearian drama, the show by Fano and Calenda (who also directs), presents Falstaff not only as the protagonist of the Merry Wives of Windsor, but also in his role in parts I and II of Henry IV and in Henry V.
Reference is made of all the adventures of this man who confuses pleasure with nature and cunning with coincidence, teaming him up with another character, a Servant who - like Iago - believes he is able to tame reality; or like Puck, who thinks he can “put a girdle round the Earth”.
The conflict between the two (which in a sense is that between comedy and drama) also recalls many other famous couples from Shakespearian theatre (Lear and his Fool, Iago and Roderigo, Antonio and Shylock) and theatrical literature in general (from Don Juan and Sganarelle to Vladimir and Estragon). The result is a catalogue of pranks (all of creation is farce, as Verdi/Boito’s Fallstaff would say) inflicted on the character right up to the dramatic epilogue, with the loss of his life-long friend/apprentice King Henry, and his fall into solitude, far from the war of Agincourt where all the others will gain eternal glory.
It is both a comical and dramatic play, a dive into the world of Shakespeare, re-elaborated for a contemporary audience capable of understanding the eternal dual between Fate and Reason.

Reservations
Reservations are available exclusively for subscription holders. Reservations are valid up to one month before the chosen date: for example, if a reservation is made for a show performing on 15 March, the seats must be confirmed by 15 February. The reservation must be picked up by the deadline at the Teatro Strehler box office or via the box office line.
Unconfirmed reservations will be automatically cancelled.
It is not possible to make reservations less than one month before the chosen performance date.
Please remember that printed vouchers cannot be either substituted or refunded.
Oro subscription holders can cancel vouchers which have already been issued by and no later than 6 p.m. on the day before the date on the voucher free of charge.
Important information regarding Subscriptions
For subscription holders under the age of 26 or over the age of 65, the issuing of reduced-price subscriptions is possible exclusively on presentation of a valid form of identity at the Teatro Strehler box office.
Piccolo Teatro Subscription tickets provide for the assigning of seats according to availability for the chosen date and show.
