"Giacomino e Mammà – explains Enrico Innniello – is the third work in Catalan that I have translated for the stage into Neapolitan. While in Chiòve by Pau Miró the story took place on the top floor of an imaginary Neapolitan condominium in the Spagnoli district, and in Giocatori - by the same author - we moved to the spacious second floor full of nothing but memories, which was the home of the professor, the small apartment with a terrace on the first floor of this theatrical Italo-Iberian building is the object of desire on which the story by Oves and Galceran is based. Giacomino, a fifty-year-old man, has lost his job, and finds himself in debt in his attempts to satisfy the consumerist desires of his wife and adolescent children. Selling the apartment where his mother lives could help get him back on his feet again, but she is against the idea. She refuses to sell... and this moment of difficulty thus becomes a long-awaited opportunity to bring two different moments in life together, an opportunity in which the love between a mother and her son comes to the surface in force as they laugh over discussions about cooking, pearls of wisdom, swearing, misunderstanding and moments of genuine and profound emotion”.
Duration: one hour and 20 minutes without interval
