Every day for the last twenty-six years, Michele Serra has shared with the readers of a newspaper his own thoughts on an aspect of news or daily life, a national or foreign political situation. What are the consequences of this fixed appointment for a writer? Is it a sentence or an opportunity?
Is writing one’s opinion every day for a newspaper for twenty-seven years a form of power or a sentence? Is it an exercise in style or a maniacal parade worthy of a hopeless case? Should we be envious of animals, who are not condemned to speak in order to exist?
Words, seductive and dangerous, are the protagonists of this comical and sentimental, immodest and enrapturing theatrical show.
The people and subjects examined over the years - politics, society, stars both real and false, ordinary people, customs and culture - re-emerge from the great mass of written words with all their original vitality, together with a few surprises.
Michele Serra talks about himself and the fragile and challenging role of the writer, attempting to unravel his mass of weaknesses and mania.
But perhaps, as with everything else, the real beginning can be traced back to his childhood.
The ending, fortunately, is yet to be written.
Duration: 50 minutes
