Three children desired and sought after, a fourth born unexpectedly and who, in his “diversity”, becomes foreign to the family, with whom it is impossible to interact, communicate or relate.
Teatro Grassi
Tramedautore 2019 is an examination of Euro-Mediterranean culture, intrinsically plural, creating a festival of performance that examines the rules of cohabitation, helping to reconstruct horizons and overcome solitude. Among the proposals from Italy, a focus on Sicilian drama, while on the international front the festival lends a voice to one of the most interesting artists from Kosovo and a multilingual conference/show.
As well as the shows, the Chiostro will be playing host to a cycle of 10 events, Camp degli Autori. Click here for the complete programme.
L'alieno
A young modern couple, Anna and David - residents in an upper-middle-class town that could be described as moderate in its aspirations, passions and the absence of political tension - raise a family with the single goal of creating a solid union. The first three children - Luca, Elena and Paolo - are born, and everything goes smoothly. But then the fourth child - unplanned - comes too quickly. Erri. Erri is not like the rest of the family. He is such a disturbing, deviant and discordant element as to render any rapport or sharing impossible. In the concrete metaphor of family dynamics, L’alieno explores the theme of relating to diversity.
Massimo Donati has written and directed films, theatrical plays, radio transmissions and literary works including Diario di spezie (Mondadori, 2013; Edizioni Il Sole 24 Ore, 2014; the Solinas GialloNero Award) and Giochi Cattivi (Feltrinelli, 2018). In 2014 together with A. Leone, he wrote and directed Fuoriscena, winner of awards in both Italy and abroad, including the Special Nastri D’Argento Doc Award (2014). In 2015 he founded the Teatri Reagenti Company. In 2018, the play Le Sorelle Prosciuti, which he wrote and directed, gained a special mention at the Cervi Museum Festival di Resistenza Teatrale.
