Teatro Grassi
Gabriele Lavia presents the adaptation of a single act from the novel Le lois de la gravité by the French writer Jean Teulé. The plot tells of a woman who, one stormy night, goes to the local police station to confess the murder of her husband, which took place about ten years earlier. At the time, the case was files as suicide. According to reconstructions, the man had jumped from an eleventh-floor balcony. However, the woman now claims that she pushed him. Just one hour remains before the deadline for reopening the “case”. A number of laws of gravity come into play: physical gravity, the acceleration of 9.81 metres per second per second that any falling object on Earth undergoes, and the other, unmeasurable, or rather the fall of conscience that lies behind life’s failings. A murderer asks to be arrested, while an officer of the law refuses to do so. Who is on the side of justice? What form of justice is this? A rainy night in Normandy.
