“Citizens without a state” is the common theme of the 20th edition of Tramedautore, which this year focuses on Italy and Italian artists, with a small international section including brand/new short texts by foreign writers.
“Even though this year will be characterised by a more intimate feel - write the organisers - the Festival will still be bringing together writers and artists who have shared this journey for so long, together with the various institutions that have accompanied them, first and foremost the Piccolo Teatro. Twenty years on, we still believe that the theatre can play an important role in metabolising the contemporary, in spreading knowledge and in promoting the growth of a community that we want to see increasingly diverse and inclusive”.

Naufragium – Uno studio
Silvia Gallerano, joined on stage by the writer Sonia Antinori and the director Daria Lippi, examines in Naufragium the period of protest, exploring the effects of that epic phenomenon through the eyes of the generation that followed: after 1968, after sexual liberation, after life in the communes, and after Politics with a capital P. The protagonist is a woman who establishes communication with her father, elderly and enigmatic, who looms over her in his absence, an emblem of loss and of desire. It is through a request to be heard, one that has come late, that her fourteen-year-old daughter speaks to the man, once the leader of a student movement that preached a world of peace and equality, whose absence has influenced her deeply Through the piercing gaze of suffering, the woman looks back over the life of a complicated father, the symbol of a form of awareness reached at the cost of a difficult and severe choice, tracing the milestones of commitment and radicalism, in an Italy torn apart by terrorism waged by both the right and the left, shaken by political turmoil and the strategically organised attacks waged by impenetrable powers. And while the ruin of the title expresses the violent results of a passion experienced to the most extreme of consequences, the sense of insufficiency that pervades the action eludes to the inevitable failure of every generation, and to the ingrained and persistent search for salvation.

Sonia Antinori, actress, writer and theatrical director, has received the  Pier Vittorio Tondelli award (1993), the Riccione award (1995), the Mravac award (1997), the Candoni award (1998), the Valeria Moriconi award (2011), the La scrittura della/e Differenza/e award (2016). Her work has been translated into all the main European languages and presented both in Italy and abroad. She has also worked as a translator, and in 2008 her version of Volksvernichtung oder Meine Leber ist sinnlos by the Austrian Werner Schwab won the Ubu award for best new foreign work. In 2012 Titivillus published 4. Trame agli angoli della Storia, her first collection of theatrical texts. In 2006 she founded MALTE (Musica, Arte, Letteratura, Teatro, Etc.) with which she has produced and programmed shows, projects, artistic and cultural events, workshops and festivals. Her works have been directed by directors such as Valter Malosti, Cesare Lievi, Cristina Pezzoli, Giorgio Pressburger, Serena Sinigaglia, Carmelo Rifici, Gigi Dall’Aglio, Irene Borges.
