Dedicated to Nigel Charnock—the choreographer and performer who in the 1980s founded the famous English company DV8 Physical Theatre—the show by Marco D’Agostin is a tribute to the artist who was a point of reference for him. “BEST REGARDS is the letter that I have written ten years late—explains D’Agostin—to the person who, in my eyes, embodied the possibility that anything can happen and explode on stage”.

Nigel was a formidable entertainer. His dance had a desperate edge, suspended on the brink of an abyss. In the eyes of those who knew him, he embodied the possibility that anything can happen and explode on stage. BEST REGARDS is the letter that I have written, 10 years too late, to someone who will never answer. It is my way of saying: Dear N, I wanted to be too much too. As Ottavio Fatica said, “letters sent late are an accusation against time for being a constellation, a Milky Way, of instants rather than a desired duration”. I therefore ask the spectators my same question; how can we open this impossible letter, when we are already out of time?
