A couple of actors in the midst of rehearsing an unforgettable Molière, a disturbing SMS, and a professional and sentimental relationship that falls apart. In his latest work, Pascal Rambert stages all the dynamism of the theatre, from the conventions of the stage to the laws that govern the relationships between humans.

Teatro Grassi
Following Clôture de l’amour and Répétition—for which Pascal Rambert also directed the Italian language version for the Emilia Romagna Teatro Fondazione – the French playwright and director brings Deux amis to the Piccolo, in the original version created for the 2021 edition of the Festival d’été de Châteauvallon.
The two friends of the title are a couple, made up of the actors Stanislas Nordey e Charles Berling. They live together, and they are also working on the show 4 Molière, or rather The Misanthrope, The School for Wives, Tartuffe and Don Juan. It is the legendary version directed at the end of the 1970s by Antoine Vitez, who had staged these plays with nothing more than a table, two chairs and a stick.
During rehearsals, by chance Charles reads a message on Stanislas’ mobile phone that he would have preferred never to have seen.
This leads to the extremely violent real-time explosion of an artistic couple.
