In the majority of cases, daydreams help people to live better, to release tension and process fears, stimulating creativity and sometimes contributing to individual genius. However, in certain cases they can generate obsessive behaviour. In a blend of theatre and performance, Marcus Lindeen examines the dark side of an aspect that we all share.

Daydreams can help us solve our problems, stimulate our creativity and lead us to create extraordinary works of art or make scientific discoveries. But for some, they can become a form of obsession. “Compulsive daydreaming disorder” is a recent psychological concept that describes the obsessive tendency demonstrated by some individuals to take refuge in an imaginary world that ends up dominating their lives. In the end, these daydreamers are forced to ask for help in order to escape their predicament. In Wild Minds, the audience, set in a circle, takes part in an imaginary group therapy session for extreme daydreamers and meets five characters who speak of their obsessions. It is a disturbing experience, a blend of theatre and performance. The show is based on interviews and was initially created in English, commissioned by the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm.
