Talk Show is a response to the goal of Sotterraneo – the theatrical research group founded in Florence in 2005 and composed of a fixed group of actors accompanied by a range of collaborators according to the various projects – to encounter figures carrying out research in a wide range of fields.
In preparing a theatrical project, Sotterraneo often becomes enamoured with the work of non-theatrical figures, drawing on this during rehearsals. The talk-show format allows the collective to meet these figures in person, discussing matters that walk the line between theatre and other professional fields, reflecting on possible compatibility, on common enemies and, lastly, on the sense of work in the field of culture in this period of digital revolution and in the midst of a global pandemic, with war being waged on the borders of Europe during an unprecedented climate crisis (have we forgotten anything...?).
Following the experience of last year, in which the group discussed with a scientific exponent, a philosopher and a writer, Sotterraneo – in collaboration with the Piccolo – has decided to involve women of national importance in a discussion on inclusive, gender equality, social transformation and the larger sense of the relationship between urban centres and suburbs. A chat set around a table, structured yet self-defacing, both serious and fun, an hour of open and accessible cultural exercise shared with all types of audience. The guest of the show is Vera Gheno.
