In the wake of an avalanche that strikes the world, a man and a woman return to explore the environment, rediscovering movement and articulating words and sounds; they try to recompose the humanity lost, and to rebuild, or to foresee an inevitable end, one that always allows a story to once again be written.
-
Teatro Studio Melato
In the third show in the series dedicated to Marco D’Agostin – the first, in reality, to be created, nominated for the 2018 UBU Award for Best Dance Performance – two creatures explore a lunar landscape; it is the desert of a new planet, or perhaps what remains after the avalanche of the title.
The performers – D’Agostin and Teresa Silva – dance like careful and emotional archaeologists; they extract movements from the space like fossil fragments. In the meantime, from their mouths come the first, timid, sounds, which progressively become words and then scraps of others’ creations, composing an idealistic living archive of songs, names, films, popular performances, and poetry.
The voices and bodies of the two explorers are embroiled in an attempt to rebuild, to elaborate memory, to explore an unknown universe. They bring forth words and gestures to seek what remains of humanity, to rebuild and reconstruct it again, after the avalanche, before the next blow comes.
Duration: 50’ without intermission
