A deluge of words, gestures and memories, moments of exaltation, challenges, and accidents; a blend of autobiography and story, through an ironic and original re-reading of the most famous competition faced by the Olympic gold-medal winner Stefania Belmondo, Marco D’Agostin plays tribute to his “first love”; cross-country skiing.

Teatro Studio Melato
«Forgive me first love», sings Adele in the harrowing First Love, the song that opens the first show in the series dedicated by the Piccolo to its associated artist. For D’Agostin, that first and never-forgotten love is cross-country skiing, practised on a professional level as a young man and then abandoned in favour of a new passion, dance.
In a surprising, ironic, and harrowing solo performance, D’Agostin looks back at the legendary victory of one of his childhood heroes, Stefania Belmondo, the gold-medal winner in the 15-km freestyle category at the Salt Lake City Olympics in 2002.
Interweaving an autobiographical account with the news of the period, D’Agostin reconstructs a narrative in which the movement of the skis gradually melds into dance steps, representing expressing an identical love of effort, the same striving for perfection, the search for a single, unrepeatable moment of joy and beauty.
