A blend of museum exhibition, “urban tour” and theatre, the proposal by Davide Carnevali invites spectators to a site-specific experience that explores the limit between the countryside and the city, between nature and culture, and between reality and fiction. A journey that begins among maps, renders and models, and that ends in the midst of farmhouses, meadows and urban spaces, creating an experience dedicated to the transformation of the Milan suburbs.

Nosedo, Porto di Mare, Corvetto
The second proposal as part of the UNLOCK THE CITY! project, Limited Edition by Davide Carnevali brings together theatre and museum; a site-specific experience in which spectators explore the landscape and the spaces of the South-East area of the city, between Nosedo, Porto di Mare and Corvetto, in a tour that takes the form of a play.
Drawing on the collaboration of the department of Architecture and Urban Studies at the Politecnico di Milano, Limited Edition reflects on the profound urban and architectural transformations affecting the suburbs of Milan, first and foremost the integration of green areas in urban centres. It also examines the essence of places, life within the districts, and our idea of the city of the future. An exploration of the boundaries between the countryside and the city, between nature and culture, and between reality and fiction.
An exhibition space set up again in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano is open to the public for a few days, presenting maps, renders and models: urban and architectural plans for a suburban area undergoing radical change. Studying formats which have already been applied in other cities, and elaborating specific proposals for Milan, the exhibition examines the possibility of replicating urban development models and the specific nature of each territory, seeking to understand how the demands of a large urban centre and the identity of its districts can be allowed to communicate.
Limited Edition is a format created for the city of Milan, but applicable to any community in which humans and nature are seeking models for sustainable cohabitation.
The starting point is located at OFF CAMPUS Cascina Nosedo, Via San Dionigi 80 in Milan (45°25'47.3"N 9°13'32.2"E). To reach the access point, you can use bus 77 (stop at Via San Dionigi 99). The nearest metro stop is M3 Porto di Mare.
The endpoint is located at the Comune di Milano building in Via Sile 8. The nearest metro stop is M3 Corvetto.
The performative action also takes place outdoors. In case of bad weather, an impermeable poncho is provided to the audience upon entry.
The route has an expected duration of about 180 minutes, including a stop of about 30 minutes, passing through green areas of the Parco di Porto di Mare, where the terrain in some points presents irregularities (e.g., stones, branches, tree roots, wet areas, etc.).
Due to the rugged nature of the terrain, the event is partially accessible to the public with motor disabilities.
The distance to be covered is about 3 km. It is recommended to wear suitable shoes (e.g., hiking or rain shoes, in case of bad weather).
The performance experience involves the use of smartphones and personal headphones.
