Teatro Strehler e Teatro Studio Melato
MiX Festival Internazionale di Cinema LGBTQ+ e Cultura Queer, the most important and popular Italian Festival dedicated to the best of national and international LGBTQ+ cinema, as well as one of the most significant in Europe, is holding its 37th season from 28 September to 1 October at the Teatro Strehler, which has played host to the Festival for more than fifteen years, with a rich programme of cinema, theatrical and cultural events characterised by the new slogan #StayOpen.
Under the new artistic directorship of Paolo Armelli, Pierpaolo Astofoli and Priscilla Robledo, the core of the Festival is comprised of three competition sections dedicated to Feature Films, Documentaries and Shorts, once again offering the best in international LGBTQ+ cinema, with a wide range of preview screenings that every year account for approximately 70% of the programming, as well as an in-depth study of the narration and representation of queer culture and the themes of inclusivity, intersectionality and multiculturality.
As always, an extensive programme of parallel events complements the cinema, cultural, musical and political content of the Festival, beginning with a series of multidisciplinary initiatives leading up to the 2023 MIXUP4PRIDE, scheduled for June, which was part of the programme of events for Pride month 2023 in Milan.
All the screenings and initiatives for the 37th edition are free of charge for friends of MiX who have signed up to the MIX Milano APS association via the official website.
Information and updates are available on mixfestival.eu and the Festival social network channels
