«You have to dance, dance in war». While his last work, Amore, ended with a man falling to the ground, asleep, it is now a reawakening – both individual and collective – that lies at the heart of the new work by Pippo Delbono and his extraordinary Company.

Teatro Strehler
Based on poetry and original accounts, Pippo Delbono stages a gesture of solitary rebellion, driven by the will to live, expanding the gaze to embrace that which surrounds us, even if it means finding ourselves faced with a reality that is worse than what we have escaped.
Through the salvific account of his own weaknesses, fears and hopes, the artist has created a play that is a call for rebirth and that, drawing on a personal experience, develops into a universal representation of that “feeling of loss” that touches us all.
Il risveglio is a work that examines falls and reawakenings, dedicated to those who have fallen asleep and then woken up again, and to those who have not yet done so.
The actors of the Company dance around Pippo Delbono to the music of a a cello played by Giovanni Ricciardi on scene, and to music from the archives of the Seventies, evoking a sacred ritual, almost a funeral.
