«There is nothing more curious or delicate than a relationship between people who know each other only by sight»: taking her cue from the novel by Thomas Mann and combining three diverse languages - words, dance and video - Liv Ferracchiati explores the relationship between beauty and the act of creation.

Teatro Studio Melato
A camera on a tripod on the water’s edge and a writer who dies on a beach after having eaten strawberries contaminated with cholera, a symbol of what lies, unexplored, in each and every one of us.
This is not a theatrical adaptation of Death in Venice, but rather a journey on the stage – freely inspired by the novel by Thomas Mann – that combines three diverse languages: words, dance and video. stepping back from the theme of homoeroticism and the difference in age, what remains is the encounter in Venice between Gustav von Aschenbach and Tadzio. What remains is death.
After having, with HEDDA. GABLER. and COME TREMANO LE COSE RIFLESSE NELL’ACQUA, explored the writings of Ibsen and Chekhov, Liv Ferracchiati – our associated artist – has now chosen to tell of the difficulty of writing and how this labour is disrupted by rare, beautiful and terrible moments, and studded with encounters with other human beings.
Duration: 60 minutes without intermission
