Against a backdrop of scientific breakthroughs and intelligent holidays, Sheikhs and stardust, troubled lives and great wars, Elvira Frosini and Daniele Timpano – with the collaboration of Lorenzo Pavolini – dialogue with the «most representative monument of Italian culture»: Alberto Sordi.
-
Teatro Studio Melato
After having examined the legacy of the French Revolution and Renaissance mythology, the popular image of Fascism and Italian colonialism, the Romanian dictatorship and the murder of Aldo Moro, Elvira Frosini and Daniele Timpano continue their critical and ironic journey through the pages of History: «We continue with our research into the myths and rhetoric of our country and our present, and now, with the collaboration of the writer Lorenzo Pavolini, we have immersed ourselves in this cultural and historical material, in this mythology surrounding Rome and the “Romeness”, but above all the “Italianness” that Alberto Sordi represented. The figure of the average man, the figure on which all others are based. Our exploration follows the traces that are buried within us, in our bodies and in our work, the layers spread throughout our lives and the life of our country».
The duo is joined on stage by Marco Cavalcoli and Barbara Chichiarelli.
Duration: 100 minutes without intermission
