Wonder Woman by Antonio Latella is inspired by a real case of rape that took place in Ancona in 2015. The protagonist, a modern Wonder Woman, represented by four actresses, fights against an unfair system, laying bare the distortion of truth through an intense and uninterrupted account.

Based on a true-life situation that happened in Ancona in 2015, Wonder Woman by Antonio Latella tells of the gang rape of a young Peruvian woman. The initial sentence had acquitted the accused, considering the young woman “too masculine”; it was only later that the Court of Appeal overturned the sentence.
The drama explores the complex obstacles that the victim was forced to face, with four actresses embodying her battle, representing a modern Wonder Woman. This symbolic character, armed “only” with the truth, fights against a system that seems to deny her justice.
The play reflects on the distortion of truth and challenges a community that often turns suffering into spectacle rather than searching for justice. A powerful narrative that moves uninterrupted, like a broken heartbeat, and that demands critical reflection from the audience
Duration: 80’ without intermission
