For the first time in Italy, Farruquito, the internationally acclaimed icon of Gypsy flamenco and his company, leads us into the heart of the purist form of flamenco, drawing on his roots and the story of his famous family.

“Try to fly, but don’t move.”
Farruco to his grandson Farruquito
The purest form of flamenco baile is represented by José Manuel Montoya, “Farruquito”, a living example of how the history of flamenco can be experienced in the present, without it seeming either obsolete or inert. Intimo is a liturgy that reveals the most personal part of Farruquito, in an atmosphere rich with power and impregnated with the presence of the maestro, his grandfather Farruco, a legendary bailaor who initiated him into the secrets of the family tradition, where dance was a fundamental element. At the age of five, Farruquito made his debut alongside his grandfather on Broadway, and ever since, he has taken his family heritage around the world, bringing the power of his roots to the stage. Every step, every moment of silence, every movement full of music carried the wisdom and power of history.
Juan Manuel Fernández Montoya (1980), aka Farruquito, goes beyond the classical concept of a bailaor, a choreographer and a producer. Just like his grandfather - the famous flamenco dancer Farruco, who he refers to as “El Capitán” - he embodies a wealth of skills that make him unique as an artist, capable of filling everything he touches with magic and quality. The heir of a unique school, founded by his grandfather, Farruquito has made history and established a form of dance that maintains the greatness and pureness of this art, which expresses the refined style and the overwhelming power of lineage. After years of international travel as a child and in his youth in the company of flamenco legends, taking to stages on Broadway or at the Universal Exposition of Seville, his debut as a first-class artist came with his participation in the 1995 film Flamenco, by Carlos Saura. After the death of Farruco, Farruquito created his first show, Raíces flamencas, which was a huge success. In 2001, he received widespread international acclaim with Farruquito y familia, which was followed by Improvisao (2015), Íntimo (2019) and Desde mi ventana (2020), successfully received by audiences and critics at the Seville Biennial.
