Can one simultaneously be in the vibrations of a grand collective celebration and in those of the complex thoughts of Byung-Chul Han, Donna Haraway, Umberto Eco and Hannah Arendt? Is it possible to move the centre to the suburbs and the suburbs to the centre, proposing a performative action that leads the various aspects of urban fabric to see each other in a new light, if only for an hour?

Quartiere Corvetto
LOCATION AND DATES TO BE DEFINED
For the third and final performance of the “UNLOCK THE CITY!” project – dedicated to the relationship between theatre and the city –, Sotterraneo has created a site-specific event that blends dramaturgy and celebration, a playlist of interconnected microevents: texts, actions, scenes, audiovisual content, totems and collective rituals. An experience of thought in action that is as conceptual as it is instinctive, where a number of performers and an uninterrupted party enter the urban space of Corvetto.
Let’s call a meeting of a district, a city, a group of people who differ in terms of age, culture and social background, and try to create a moment of convergence of urban geography, in which the participants see the various layers of the metropolis blend; theatre serves as a temporary magnetic pole; playful, intelligent and vital.
In this moment in which the constant idea of the apocalypse both oppresses and consoles us, perhaps our coming together, our letting ourselves go, embraces vitality and allows us to shake off this sense of impotence. It will be like agreeing to meet up for the end of the world, so that we don’t have to face it alone. Let’s try, before it is really too late.
Duration: the play is currently in production
